Track Conversions With Link Clicks

Last Updated: Jan 26, 2012 01:43PM EST
If you don't have a conversion "page", you can still track conversions with Spring Metrics. A common example of this is when you'd like to see how many people download a file from your website.

The code for a link will be contained using an <a> tag and an </a> tag. If you have access to edit the code for the link, change

  <a href="http://example.com/target">bob</a>

into

 <a href="targetUrl.html" onclick="setTimeout(function() { document.location='http://example.com/target'; }, 500);_springMetq.push(['convert','conversionName']);return false;">bob</a>

Be sure to change 'conversionName' into something that accurately captures the nature of the conversion. Contact support@springmetrics.com if you're having trouble setting this up.
